What is involved in treatment
The initial consultation involves a detailed exploration of your health problems, your symptoms and how they affect the quality of your life. Your personal and family medical histories are carefully examined and your nature and way of being are explored gently yet thoroughly. The homoeopathic consultation offers a unique experience and most people find this initial consultation very helpful in its own right, even before a medicine is prescribed.
We then offer you feedback on what we have perceived in you, your disease and your life situation. We make some suggestions as to how you might help yourself to get better and then we prescribe a medicine on the basis of everything that we have together discovered about you. The purpose of the medicine is to stimulate your own natural healing abilities so that you can, in time, restore yourself to health.
Follow-up appointments are made to follow and support your healing process. The number and frequency depends entirely on you and your situation. We may prescribe other medicines for you or suggest other therapies to help you further. We are clear that, whilst homoeopathy is a wonderful system of medicine, it cannot help everyone all the time. No system of medicine can reasonably claim to do so and we are more than happy to own my limitations and, where necessary, refer you back to your GP or on to another practitioner.
Central to your healing process is YOU. Humans are wonderful at repairing and healing themselves. Our task is to provide just enough of the best stimulus to that process and then allow you to restore yourself. Restoration of health is the aim of treatment, not simply the removal or management of symptoms.
The homoeopathic process is empowering of you and your way of being in the world.
